The Williams Family Pincrest Park Community We were looking for the house of our dreams, and we found it with Don Collins Builder, Inc. When we relocated from California to Raleigh, we had just 6 days to find the perfect house. After 5 days of an exhausting search, we found it! The house had everything we wanted: a spacious kitchen, all the formal rooms, 5 bedrooms and bathrooms, a huge master suite complete with a garden tub and picture window, a bonus room, walk-up attic, generous sized family room, and a beautiful outside deck. It truly was the perfect house for us!
Since the day we moved in, we have had wonderful support from our builder, Don Collins. All of those minor adjustments that need to be made when purchasing a new home were handled with grace, speed, and the quality that makes Don Collins Builder, Inc. the number one builder for us. We still laugh about not knowing how to work the showers in our new house, and Don walked us through the process over the phone. Talk about dedication! The attention to detail by each of the subcontractors, and the ability to communicate with Don Collins directly and effectively made building a pleasure instead of a chore. Don’s constant communications, gentle and, might I add, patient manner were huge parts of the building process. He and his wife have been a pleasure to work with and get to know. Working and building in Raleigh for quite some time has allowed Don to choose his subcontractors with experience, care, and precision. The quality of care given to each task was extraordinary. I was especially impressed with the wood trim details and the tile work performed by the respective contractors. The lighting, moldings and the interest of the floor plan have all been assets that were considered part of the base of the house -- not extras. Whenever we had a problem, I was sure it would be a deal and a negotiation, yet Don quietly handled the issue with ease and assurance. After the house was finished, we were not abandoned at the closing. When we have had any issues, I have called Don and he has taken care of them immediately. My husband and I are both grateful for the quality, genuine concerns, and overall process of building our home. However, more important than the process itself, we are grateful that we had such an excellent builder with which to work.
John and Fran Wooten Pinecrest Park Community Three years ago, we moved back to Raleigh after being away for almost sixteen years. While shopping for a new home, we came across houses with the Collins name on them. There was something special about these houses that made them stand out from all the others. We had known of the Collins family and their reputation for quality-built custom homes from living in this area before. As we continued our search for the perfect house, we always came back to those with a Collins “for sale” sign.
Finally, we met with Don Collins and discussed the plans for one of the last lots in the neighborhood that we wanted our kids to grow up in. As he started construction on the house, we decided it was the one for our family. We made changes and added challenging items which he had not dealt with before (i.e. elevator accessible to four floors), but these were not a hurdle for him. Throughout the construction process, Don readily gave creative suggestions, which customized our home and enhanced its value to us. At the same time, he helped us maintain a reasonable budget and informed us of any price differences as we deviated from the original plans. This was nice because there were no surprises at the closing.
Don Collins comes from a reputable family of builders, and it is upon this foundation that he has enhanced his business through his creativity, eye for detail, and willingness to try new ideas. He has always been available for questions and he appears very sincere about providing his customers with a high-end quality product. Don has always been pleasant in interactions and business transactions. It was for these reasons that we asked him to finish our basement and sunroom addition. If you are in the market for a new home, we recommend Don Collins without any reservations!
